A super easy DIY board game to work on them counting skills! Roll the die to walk the plank but be careful don’t be the first one to jump off!!

Set up: 15 minutes
Resources
- Blue Card
- Brown Paper
- Glue
- Scissors
- Pen
- Counters (I used our peg people)
- Dice
The set up
Cut your brown paper into strips wide enough for your counters to stand on, Glue them down onto the blue card. Take your pen and draw lines onto the plank to section it out, make sure they are big enough for your counters to fit on! Mine were roughly 4cm apart. Once you have done done that find your die and peg people and you are ready to play!
Making the Most out of the activity
The aim of the game is to be the last pirate to jump off the plank! Explain the rules and start rolling, make the most of counting the dots on the die as well as the steps forward. Games like this are fab screen free opportunities that promote turn taking!
