Our Review.
Ayla has been tackling some big emotions recently, so I bought her ‘The colour monster’ it’s such a lovely book and it links certain emotions to colours for example yellow is happy. As it was Halloween I made the colours into ghosts so we used them as props as we read the story together. Stories like this really help children understand and accept their own feelings but it also allows them to build a base for empathy by understanding others can feel the same way. Reading about emotions also offers the opportunity to discuss our feelings and learn that it is ok to talk about them.
