Simple Memory Game For Preschoolers With Lights and Toys

We had a power cut!! Ayla isn’t the biggest fan of the dark so we played a little memory game to distract her from the lack of lights. But don’t worry you can do this one even if you haven’t got a power cut.

What’s Missing Memory Game.

Suitable for: 3 years +
Set up: less than 5 minutes

  • A few random items
  • Torch
  • Lights off or a blanket to hide the item while you take one away.

The set up

Lay out your items and take a good look at them together turn the torch off and take one item away. Turn the torch on and get them to guess what’s missing!

Making the Most out of the activity

This is a great one for noticing details of the world around them, Ayla listed off the items she could see when she was ready she turned the torch off and I took something away. She turned the light on and had to guess what was missing. As she doesn’t like the dark I gave her the control over the torch so she could turn it off and on when she wanted to.
