Pompoms In Gloop

Benefits of Playing With Pompoms In Gloop.

Gross Motor Skills – Gloop will hold on tight to the pompoms if they pull the pompom out too quickly but will release the pompom if they are gently which is a great way to explore gross motor controls.
Fine Motor – As they explore the gloop with tools and well as squeezing the mixture through their hands.
Counting – As you remove the pompoms from the gloop you can count them.
Introducing Size –
As you explore and talk about the different sized pompoms you find within the tray.

Making The Gloop

Just Grab:

  1. 250g or 2 1/2 Cups of Corn Flour / Cornstarch
  2. 250ml or 1 Cup of Water
  3. Food Colouring (optional)

  1. Pour 250ml of water into a jug then add in a few drops of food colouring. Mix to combine adding more food colouring until you have your desired colour.
  2. Shake 2 1/2 cups of corn flour into the tray and slowly pour in the 250ml of coloured water, stopping to mix it occasionally. As the gloop gets thicker it can become tricky to mix with a spoon so it may be easier to use your hands to combine the mixture.
  3. Once the mixture is runny when you are gentle with it and crumbles when you are rough with it you have your gloop.

Creating The Activity

Add in your pompoms, tools and any other resources you plan on using during this activity into the gloop. You are now ready to play.
