Get ready to step through the hoop of fire! Ayla loved exploring the way the tissue paper and the hoop moved as she hit the hoop as well as stepping through the fiery ring!

Suitable for: 1 years +
Set up: 10 minutes
Resources
- Hula hoop
- Tissue paper
- Pritt stick
- wool
- masking tape
The set up
Take your tissue paper and rip it into strips, if you rip it along the correct edge it will actually rip in a fairly straight line which is helpful! Using a little pritt stick glue along the top section of your hoop and stick your tissue paper onto it making the fire as long as you like. Your hoop is now ready to go! If you wanted to suspend it from the ceiling tie a long piece of wool either side of you fire and use masking tape to secure it to the ceiling. For younger children I would just recommend holding the hoop so it’s a little more secure.
Making the Most out of the activity
Let your little one explore the hoop, can the walk or step through it? can they throw a ball through it? How does the tissue paper move? Ayla stepped through the ring a few times but for the most part enjoyed spinning the hoop in circles and watching the tissue paper flutter about.
